shiva-shakti

Mixed media on canvas – 2003. This painting makes reference to the Ajna Chakra which is located in the centre of the forehead and is linked to intuition.

In this painting we see the male god Shiva combined with his female principal Shakti. They represent unity and balance. The royal and midnight blues and indigos that surround this figure allow it to float in a heavenly environment. Blues and purples have often been associated with thought and knowledge which links back to the fact that this is a representation of the head Chakra, or the Third Eye position.
